Method
Cheese Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese Sticks
Remove mozzarella sticks from the freezer and allow them to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften slightly. This will help prevent them from breaking during frying.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Cheese Sticks
Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then roll in the seasoned breadcrumbs until fully coated. Repeat for all mozzarella sticks.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
- 5
Fry the Cheese Sticks
Carefully add a few breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.
- 6
Drain the Sticks
Remove fried mozzarella sticks with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
Marinara Sauce
- 7
Serve with Marinara Sauce
Heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through. Serve the fried mozzarella sticks hot with the marinara sauce for dipping.
