Preparing the Macaron Shells

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 3: Whip Egg Whites
In a clean, dry bowl, whip the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add granulated sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the whipped egg whites, adding food coloring if desired, until fully combined.

Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.

Let the piped macarons rest for about 30 minutes until a skin forms, then bake for 15-20 minutes.
Making the Filling

In a mixing bowl, cream the butter until smooth.
