Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare and Cook the Steak

Season the New York Strip Steak with salt and black pepper. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let rest.

Making the Pan Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare the Pan Sauce

In the same skillet, add the minced shallots and sauté for 2-3 minutes until soft. Pour in the red wine and scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add the beef broth and thyme, simmer for another 5 minutes, then stir in the butter until melted.

Preparing the Truffle Fries

  1. 3

    Make the Truffle Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the cut russet potatoes with truffle oil and salt, then spread them out on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
