Slice the Cucumbers
Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and slice them thinly. You can cut them into rounds or half-moons, depending on your preference.

Rinse the fresh dill under cold water, then chop it finely.
Making the Pickling Mixture

Heat the Mixture
Heat the saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Combining and Marinating

Mix All Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers, red onion, chopped dill, and salt. Pour the pickling mixture over the vegetables and toss gently to combine.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the mixture to a jar with a lid. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for best flavor.
