In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a plate.

Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Add the Tomatoes and Spices
Pour in the crushed tomatoes, then add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically 8-10 minutes.

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and add it to the meatball sauce. Toss gently to coat the spaghetti with the sauce.
