Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the steak. Season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Place a cast-iron skillet or heavy frying pan over high heat. Allow it to heat up until it is very hot, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Once the pan is hot, place the ribeye steak in the skillet. Sear without moving it for about 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Flip the steak using tongs.

  5. 5

    Add Butter and Herbs

After flipping the steak, add the butter, fresh rosemary, and thyme to the pan. As the butter melts, spoon it over the steak. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare or to your desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and place it on a cutting board. Tent it with foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked ribeye steak!
