Prepare the Glass
Rim the edge of a glass with a lime wedge and dip it into coarse salt to coat the rim. Set aside.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of tequila, 1 oz of triple sec, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.

Shake the Mixture
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.

Serve the Margarita
Fill the prepared glass with ice and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass over the ice.

Garnish
Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
