Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2

Prepare the Bread

Cut the stale bread into cubes (about 1-inch pieces) and place them in a large mixing bowl.

3

Soak the Bread

In a separate bowl, combine the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until well blended. Pour the mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are coated. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.

Baking

4

Add Optional Ingredients

If using, fold in the raisins and nuts into the soaked bread mixture. You can also add melted butter at this stage for extra richness.

5

Transfer to Baking Dish

Grease a baking dish (9x13 inches) with butter or non-stick spray. Pour the bread pudding mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.

6

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

Serving

7

Cool and Serve

Once baked, let the bread pudding cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with a drizzle of cream or a scoop of ice cream.
