Wash the apples thoroughly under running water. Remove the stems and cut them into quarters, leaving the skin and seeds intact.

In a large pot, combine the quartered apples and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 30 minutes, or until the apples are soft and mushy.
