Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Dough Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Pizza Assembly
- 5
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 6
Roll Out Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 7
Add Pesto Sauce
Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or a baking sheet and spread the pesto sauce evenly over the base.
- 8
Add Cheese and Vegetables
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the pesto, then layer on the red bell pepper, zucchini, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and spinach leaves.
- 9
Season the Pizza
Sprinkle salt and pepper over the toppings to taste.
- 10
Bake Pizza
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 11
Slice and Serve
Once baked, remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve warm.
