Chicken Wings

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken Wings

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This will help ensure they get crispy when cooked.

  2. 2

    Season the Wings

In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder. Toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the seasonings.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or a fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it bubbles and browns quickly, the oil is ready.

  2. 4

    Fry the Wings

Carefully add the seasoned chicken wings to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the wings for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  3. 5

    Drain the Wings

Once cooked, remove the wings from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Tossing in Sauce

  1. 6

    Toss with Sauce

In a large mixing bowl, add the fried chicken wings and pour your choice of sauce (e.g., buffalo sauce) over them. Toss the wings until they are evenly coated in the sauce.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve

Arrange the tossed chicken wings on a serving platter. Serve with celery sticks and a side of blue cheese dressing for dipping.
