Method
Rib Preparation
Prepare the Ribs
Start by rinsing the pork ribs under cold water to clean them. Pat them dry with paper towels.
Season the Ribs
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Let the Ribs Rest
Cover the seasoned ribs with plastic wrap and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight to enhance the flavor.
BBQ Sauce Preparation
Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, chili powder, and salt. Stir well to combine.
Cook the Sauce
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Cooking the Ribs
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
Bake the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil to keep them moist. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
Glaze with BBQ Sauce
Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush a generous amount of the BBQ sauce over the ribs. Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 20-30 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through.
Serving
Rest and Slice
Once cooked, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes. Slice between the bones to separate the ribs.
Serve
Serve the ribs warm with extra BBQ sauce on the side and your favorite sides.
