Ramen Ingredients

Method

Ramen Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the soy sauce and miso paste until well combined.

  2. 2

    Cook the Proteins

For pork, add the pork belly to the broth, cooking for about 15 minutes or until tender. For shrimp, add the shrimp and cook for about 3-5 minutes until they turn pink. For tofu, gently add the cubed tofu and let it warm in the broth.

  3. 3

    Cook the Ramen Noodles

In a separate pot, boil water and cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Eggs

In the same pot where you boiled the noodles, add the eggs and boil for 6-7 minutes for soft-boiled eggs. Remove, cool in ice water, peel, and set aside.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Ramen

In bowls, place a portion of the cooked ramen noodles. Ladle the hot broth with proteins over the noodles. Halve the soft-boiled eggs and place on top. Garnish with sliced green onions, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
