Preparation

   Chill the Glass

   Start by chilling a rocks glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.

   Rinse the Glass

   In a separate glass, pour the absinthe and swirl it around to coat the inside of the glass. Discard the excess absinthe.

   Mix the Drink

   In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the Angel's Envy Rye Whiskey, Starlight Apple Brandy, maple syrup, and Peychaud's bitters.

   Stir and Strain

   Stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled. Strain it into the prepared rocks glass.

5. 5

   Garnish

   Express the oils from a lemon peel over the drink by twisting it. Then, place the lemon peel into the glass as garnish.
