Brewed Coffee

Sweetener (optional)

Method

Preparing the Espresso

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Using an espresso machine, brew 2 shots of espresso. Use fresh coffee grounds and ensure the water temperature is between 90-95°C (194-203°F) for optimal extraction.

Steaming the Milk

  1. 2

    Steam the Milk

Pour 240 ml of milk into a steaming pitcher. Use a steam wand to heat and froth the milk until it reaches about 65-70°C (149-158°F) and has a velvety microfoam texture. If you don't have a steam wand, you can heat the milk in a saucepan and whisk vigorously to create froth.

Assembling the Latte

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large coffee mug, pour the brewed espresso shots. If desired, add sugar or sweetener to taste and stir to combine. Slowly pour the steamed milk over the espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon to create a smooth layer on top. Then, spoon the frothed milk on top for a latte art effect.
