Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Hearts
Rinse the artisan romaine hearts under cold water, remove any damaged leaves, and cut each head into quarters lengthwise. Place on a serving platter.
- 2
Prepare the Cherry Tomatoes
Rinse the cherry tomatoes and slice them in half. Scatter them over the romaine wedges.
- 3
Slice the Red Onion
Peel the red onion and slice it thinly. Distribute the slices evenly over the salad.
- 4
Chop the Chives
Finely chop the chives and sprinkle them over the salad for added flavor and garnish.

- 6
Add the Blue Cheese
Sprinkle maytag blue cheese crumbles evenly over the salad.

Mix the Dressing Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and lemon juice until smooth.
