Butter Pecan Wash

Cocktail Assembly

Method

Butter Pecan Wash Preparation

1

Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat until completely liquid.

2

Toast the Pecans

In a separate skillet, toast 1 cup of pecans over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant and lightly browned. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3

Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, toasted pecans, and 2 cups of Clancy’s Private Single Barrel Bourbon. Stir well to integrate.

4

Infuse

Let the mixture sit at room temperature for about 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.

5

Chill and Separate

After an hour, place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until the butter solidifies. Once solid, skim off the solidified butter and strain the bourbon through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the pecans.

Cocktail Assembly

6

Prepare the Glass

Fill a cocktail shaker with 1 cup of ice.

7

Mix the Cocktail

Add the fat-washed bourbon (approximately 2 oz), 1 oz of maple syrup, and 2 dashes of walnut bitters into the shaker. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

8

Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.

9

Garnish

Garnish with 5 pieces of pecan on top for decoration.
