Shape the mixture into a round patty about ¾ inch thick, ensuring it is slightly larger than the bun as it will shrink during cooking.

Prepare the Bun
While the patty is cooking, slice the burger bun in half. Optionally, you can toast the bun on the grill or in a toaster for added texture.

Place the cooked beef patty on the bottom half of the bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles.
