Method

Preparation of the Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the mixture into a round patty about ¾ inch thick, ensuring it is slightly larger than the bun as it will shrink during cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the patty on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is achieved.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bun

While the patty is cooking, slice the burger bun in half. Optionally, you can toast the bun on the grill or in a toaster for added texture.

  2. 6

    Add the Toppings

Place the cooked beef patty on the bottom half of the bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles.

  3. 7

    Complete the Burger

Cover with the top half of the bun and press down gently to secure the toppings.
