Tuna Tataki

Peanut Crumble

Method

Tuna Tataki

1

Prepare the Tuna

Season the tuna steak with soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.

2

Sear the Tuna

Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side until a crust forms while the center remains rare. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Peanut Crumble

3

Make the Peanut Crumble

In a food processor, combine unsalted peanuts, brown sugar, and salt. Pulse until the mixture resembles a coarse crumble. Set aside.

Seaweed Salad

4

Prepare the Seaweed Salad

Soak the dried seaweed in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain. In a bowl, mix the seaweed, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, cucumber, and carrot. Toss well to combine.
