Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

In a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Add the ribeye steak to the hot pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side, without moving it around. This will create a nice crust.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Aromatics

Flip the steak over and add the crushed garlic cloves and fresh rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steak with the garlic and oil.

  6. 6

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, it should be around 130°F (54°C).

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the ribeye against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked ribeye steak!
