Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Ingredients
In an old-fashioned glass, place the sugar cube and add the bitters. Muddle together until the sugar is dissolved.
- 2
Add the Whiskey
Add the rye whiskey or bourbon to the glass, and stir gently to combine.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the glass with large ice cubes to keep the drink cold without too much dilution.
- 4
Garnish
Using a lighter or match, carefully burn the orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
