Wine Ingredients
Method
Winemaking Process
- 1
Harvesting the Grapes
Carefully harvest the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes at optimal ripeness, ensuring the fruit is free from pests and diseases.
- 2
Crushing and Destemming
Destem the harvested grapes and crush them to release the juice. This can be done using a mechanical crusher or by hand.
- 3
Fermentation
Transfer the crushed grapes into fermentation tanks. Add yeast to initiate fermentation. Monitor the temperature and fermentation process for about 10-15 days.
- 4
Pressing
Once fermentation is complete, press the mixture to separate the liquid wine from the solid grape skins. This can be done using a wine press.
- 5
Malolactic Fermentation
Allow the wine to undergo malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity. This may take several weeks.
- 6
Aging
Transfer the wine into oak barrels for aging. The wine should be aged for at least 12 months to develop its complex flavors.
- 7
Bottling
After aging, filter and clarify the wine before bottling. Add sulfur dioxide to stabilize the wine and prevent spoilage.
- 8
Labeling and Storage
Label the bottles and store them in a cool, dark place. Allow the wine to mature for an additional 6 months before serving.
