Cinnamon-Apple Bar Ingredients

Method

Directions for Cinnamon-Apple Bar

  1. 1

    Prepare the Apples

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are caramelized and soft. Set aside to cool.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and the cooled apple mixture. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.

  3. 3

    Bake the Bars

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  4. 4

    Serve

Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then cut into squares. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
