Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare

Fill your cocktail shaker halfway with fresh ice (about 5–7 medium cubes). If you prefer a longer drink, have cold club soda chilled and ready.

2

Measure & combine

Using a jigger, pour 2 oz Bombay Sapphire gin, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup into the shaker over the ice.

3

Shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold and condensation forms. This chills and dilutes the cocktail to balance the botanicals.

4

Strain

Place a strainer over the shaker and strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice for a short serve. For a longer serve, strain into a highball glass over ice and top with about 2 oz of chilled club soda, gently stirring once to combine.

Garnish & serve

5

Garnish with a lemon wheel or a lemon twist expressed over the drink to release essential oils. Optionally slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and rest it on top. Serve immediately.

Notes

6

Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing simple syrup in 0.25 oz increments. Substitute lime juice for lemon if preferred. Use chilled glassware for an extra cold presentation.
