Cucumber Smash - Cocktail

Method

Cucumber Smash - Preparation & Assembly

1

Muddle cucumber and mint

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, add the 4 cucumber slices and 6 of the mint leaves (reserve 2 leaves for garnish). Using a sturdy muddler, gently muddle until cucumber releases juice but not so hard that the cucumber turns into pulp — about 8–10 gentle presses. The goal is fresh cucumber juice and aroma from the mint.

2

Build the cocktail

Add 2 oz Corazón Blanco tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup into the shaker with the muddled cucumber and mint.

3

Dry shake (optional)

If you want more aromatic integration and slight froth, dry shake (no ice) the mixture vigorously for 10–12 seconds. This step is optional but recommended for a brighter, more emulsified texture.

4

Shake with ice

Add about 1 cup of ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and well-chilled.

5

Strain into glass

Prepare a rocks glass or double old-fashioned glass by filling it with crushed ice (about 1 cup). Double-strain the shaken cocktail over the crushed ice using a fine-mesh strainer plus the shaker strainer to remove bits of cucumber and mint for a smooth drink.

6

Top and finish

If desired, gently top the cocktail with 1 oz club soda for a lighter, fizzy variation (optional). Give the drink one brief stir to integrate the soda without losing carbonation.

7

Garnish and serve

Garnish with the reserved mint sprig and a cucumber wheel or slice on the rim. Clap the mint between your palms once to release its aroma before placing it on the drink. Serve immediately with a short cocktail straw or stirrer.
