Base

Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream the unsalted butter until smooth. Gradually add the granulated sugar and beat until fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Base

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

  2. 8

    Add Sugar and Vanilla

Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.

  3. 9

    Whip Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture until smooth.

Assembly

  1. 10

    Frost the Base

Once the base has cooled completely, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.

  2. 11

    Add Toppings

Top with fresh berries and mint leaves. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
