Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Spaghetti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 3

    Add Tomatoes

Add the San Marzano tomatoes to the skillet, breaking them up with a spoon. Stir in 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 4

    Add Fresh Basil

Once the sauce has thickened, stir in 1 cup of fresh basil leaves and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Combine and Serve

  1. 5

    Mix Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained spaghetti to the sauce in the skillet. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

  2. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves. Enjoy your delicious Carbone!
