Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Rinse the pork ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Apply the Dry Rub

In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture evenly over the ribs, ensuring that all sides are covered. Let the ribs marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2 to 2.5 hours, until the ribs are tender.

  3. 5

    Apply BBQ Sauce (Optional)

If using BBQ sauce, remove the ribs from the oven, uncover, and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes uncovered to caramelize the sauce.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
