Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired internal temperature.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked cheese patty, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

Fries Preparation

  1. 6

    Prep the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips to create fries.

  2. 7

    Season the Fries

In a bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil and salt until evenly coated.

Cooking the Fries

  1. 8

    Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned potato strips in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
