Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Fries

  1. 3

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips to create fries. Rinse the cut fries under cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the fries to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 6

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach desired doneness.

  2. 7

    Toast the Buns

Cut the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 8

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer the lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, sliced tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
