Flatbread Base

Method

Flatbread Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well to ensure even distribution.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the warm water and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Roll Out Flatbread

Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a flat circle about 1/4 inch thick.

  5. 5

    Cook Flatbread

Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side until lightly browned and cooked through.

Topping Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture

In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, chopped fresh herbs, minced garlic, and lemon juice until well combined.

  2. 7

    Slice Toppings

Thinly slice the red onion and cucumber.

  3. 8

    Assemble Flatbread

Spread a generous layer of the herb cream cheese mixture over each flatbread. Top with smoked salmon, red onion slices, and cucumber.

  4. 9

    Season and Serve

Sprinkle black pepper over the top and serve immediately, or chill for later enjoyment.
