Chicken Strips

Method

Chicken Strips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into strips, about 1 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs seasoned with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dip each chicken strip into the flour, shaking off excess, then into the egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure each strip is evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or campfire-safe pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken Strips

Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

  6. 6

    Drain the Chicken

Remove the chicken strips from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Fries

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to resemble fries.

  2. 8

    Soak the Fries

Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 9

    Preheat Oil for Frying

In a separate pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 10

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potato strips and pat them dry. Fry them in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.

  5. 11

    Season the Fries

Remove fries from the oil and place on paper towels to drain. Sprinkle with salt while they are still hot.
