Burger Patties
Toppings
Method
Preparing the Patties
- 1
Mixing the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.
- 2
Forming the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Cooking the Toppings
- 3
Cooking the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Sautéing the Mushrooms
In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter and melt. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until browned and tender, about 5 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Grilling the Burgers
- 5
Grilling the Patties
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- 6
Adding the Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
Assembling the Burger
- 7
Building the Burger
Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the burger patty with melted Swiss cheese, a slice of tomato, 1 slice of crispy bacon, and your desired amount of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
