Heat 3 gallons of filtered water to 165°F (74°C). Add Pilsner malt and Carapils malt to the water, stirring to combine. Maintain the temperature at 152°F (67°C) for 60 minutes.

Mash the Grains

After mashing, sparge the grains with an additional 2 gallons of hot water. Collect the wort in a brew kettle.

Sparge the Grains

Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add Saaz hops and boil for 60 minutes. Add Hallertau hops in the last 15 minutes of the boil.

Boil the Wort

Cool the wort down to 70°F (21°C) and transfer it to a fermentation vessel. Pitch the Pilsner yeast and seal the vessel. Allow it to ferment for 2 weeks at a consistent temperature.

Ferment the Beer

After fermentation, siphon the beer into sanitized bottles, leaving some space at the top. Cap the bottles and allow them to carbonate at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.

Bottle the Beer

Chill the bottles in the refrigerator, pour into a glass, and enjoy your homemade Zero Gravity Green State Light Pilsner!
