Method

Biscuit Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Biscuit Dough

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined.

  2. 2

    Shape and Bake

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, knead gently, and shape into a giant biscuit. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the maple sausage links until browned and cooked through. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Fry the Eggs

In the same skillet, crack the eggs and fry them sunny-side up until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny.

Aioli Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Garlicky Aioli

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Royal Hangover

Slice the giant biscuit in half. Layer with cooked sausage, a slice of American cheese, a sunny-side-up egg, and drizzle with hot garlicky aioli. Top with the other half of the biscuit.
