Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean and Peel Horseradish

Thoroughly wash the fresh horseradish root under cold running water to remove any dirt. Use a vegetable peeler to remove the outer skin of the horseradish.

  2. 2

    Grate the Horseradish

Using a box grater or a food processor, grate the peeled horseradish root until you have about 1 cup of grated horseradish.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the grated horseradish, apple cider vinegar, water, salt, sugar, and lemon juice.

  2. 4

    Stir Well

Stir the mixture well until all the ingredients are fully combined and the sugar has dissolved.

Storage

  1. 5

    Transfer to Container

Pour the mixture into a clean glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.

  2. 6

    Refrigerate

Seal the jar and place it in the refrigerator. Allow the horseradish to chill for at least 24 hours before using to enhance the flavors.
