Method

Cooking the Prawns

  1. 1

    Prepare the Water

In a large saucepan, bring 1 litre of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt and a few slices of lemon to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Prawns

Once the water is boiling, add the peeled and deveined prawns. Cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Cool the Prawns

Remove the prawns from the saucepan and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes, then drain.

Making the Marie Rose Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 200 grams of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon of hot sauce.

  2. 5

    Season the Sauce

Add salt to taste and mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and the sauce is smooth.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 6

    Prepare the Serving Plate

On a serving plate, place a layer of shredded iceberg lettuce.

  2. 7

    Add Prawns and Sauce

Arrange the cooled prawns on top of the lettuce. Generously drizzle the Marie Rose sauce over the prawns.

  3. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle paprika over the dish and garnish with lemon wedges. Serve immediately.
