Shrimp Preparation

Boil the Shrimp
In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil. Add the salt to the boiling water to season it.

Add the Shrimp
Carefully add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the boiling water. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Drain and Serve
Drain the chilled shrimp and arrange them on a serving platter. Garnish with lemon wedges.

Mix the Sauce
In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.

Taste and Adjust
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. You can add more horseradish for a spicier kick or more ketchup to mellow the flavor.

Transfer the cocktail sauce to a small serving dish and serve alongside the chilled shrimp.
