Preparation of Bread

Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices on a diagonal to create more surface area for toasting.

Brush with Olive Oil
Using a pastry brush, lightly coat both sides of each baguette slice with olive oil.

Grill the Bread
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Prepare the Basil
Roughly chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

Mince the Garlic
Finely mince the garlic cloves and mix them into the tomato and basil mixture.

Season the Mixture
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to taste. Gently toss the mixture until well combined.

Top the Bread
Once the bread is grilled, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of bread.

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately as an appetizer or snack.
