Method
Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat.
- 2
Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes.
- 3
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.
Grilling the Chicken
- 4
Season Chicken
Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 5
Grill Chicken
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 6
Slice Chicken
Remove from heat, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice the chicken into strips.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
- 7
Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- 8
Add Garlic
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- 9
Stir in Cream
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 2-3 minutes.
- 10
Add Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- 11
Season Sauce
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combining and Serving
- 12
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add in reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- 13
Serve with Chicken
Top the pasta with sliced grilled chicken and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
