Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Preparing the Meats

Smoked Prime Beef Brisket
Season the brisket with salt and pepper, then smoke it at 225°F for 8-10 hours until the internal temperature reaches 195°F.

Cheddar Jalapeño Sausage
Cook the sausage in the smoker until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F, about 1-2 hours.
Making the Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Marinate the Chicken
Soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

Prepare the Breading
In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Remove chicken from buttermilk and coat in the flour mixture.

Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F. Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes per piece.
