Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

Fill a rocks glass or short tumbler with ice cubes to chill while you build the cocktail.

  2. 2

    Measure ingredients

Measure 2 oz cinnamon whiskey, 2 oz apple cider (if making a longer drink), and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice. If you prefer a slightly sweeter balance, measure 0.25 oz simple syrup.

  3. 3

    Shake (for stirred/short version)

If serving as a short shaken cocktail: Add cinnamon whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup (if using) and a handful of ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until chilled.

  4. 4

Build (for long or fizzy version)

If making a longer served-on-the-rocks version: Add ice to the chilled glass, pour in the cinnamon whiskey and apple cider, then add lemon juice and simple syrup. Stir gently to combine. Top with 1 oz club soda or ginger ale if you want fizz—stir once to incorporate.

  5. 5

    Strain & serve (shaken version)

If shaken, discard the ice from the chilled glass and strain the cocktail into the glass over fresh ice (or serve neat in a chilled coupe if preferred).

Garnish

  1. 6

Garnish the drink with an apple slice on the rim or a cinnamon stick placed in the glass. Add a lemon twist for a bright citrus aroma if desired.
