Preparing the Patty
- 1
Mixing the Beef
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and flatten two of them into thin patties. Place a slice of American cheese in the center of each patty.
- 3
Creating the Juicy Lucy
Take the other two patties and place them over the cheese-topped patties. Seal the edges tightly to ensure the cheese is contained within.

Building the Burger
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each burger bun. Place the lettuce, tomato, and onion on top. Add the rested patty and then top with the other half of the bun.
