Burger Patty

Cheese and Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Patties

3

Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

4

Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip.

5

Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

6

Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, split the burger buns and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

7

Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
