Burger Components

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with blackened seasoning. Mix gently until well combined. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to help them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess grease.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Onion Rings

If using store-bought onion rings, prepare them according to package instructions. If making homemade, slice onions into rings, dip in batter, and fry until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Cook the Beef Patties

In the same skillet (or on a grill), add the beef patties over medium-high heat. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place goat cheese on top of each patty to allow it to melt slightly.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in the skillet or on the grill until golden brown.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, spread a layer of garlic basil mayonnaise. Place the beef patty with goat cheese on top, followed by a slice of crispy bacon, onion rings, and a handful of arugula. Drizzle Sriracha sauce over the top before placing the top half of the bun.
