Add Potatoes and Broth
Stir in the diced potatoes and add the chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Incorporate Clams
Add the chopped clams to the pot along with the dried thyme and bay leaf. Stir to combine and let simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

Pour in the heavy cream and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir well and allow the chowder to heat through for another 5 minutes.
