Method
Graham Cracker Base Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, crush the graham crackers until they are fine crumbs. Melt the butter and mix with the crushed graham crackers and sugar until combined.
- 2
Bake the Base
Press the graham cracker mixture into the bottom of a baking dish evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until slightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool.
Chocolate Layer Assembly
- 3
Add Chocolate
Once the graham cracker base has cooled, break the chocolate bars into pieces and distribute them evenly over the crust. Place back in the oven for about 5 minutes until the chocolate is slightly melted.
Marshmallow Topping and Flambé
- 4
Add Marshmallows
Remove the baking dish from the oven and place the large marshmallows on top of the melted chocolate, ensuring they are closely packed.
- 5
Broil the Marshmallows
Set your oven to broil and return the dish to the oven. Broil for about 1-2 minutes until the marshmallows are golden brown and toasted. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.
- 6
Flambé
Carefully drizzle the flammable alcohol over the toasted marshmallows. Using a long lighter or match, ignite the alcohol to create a flame. Allow the flames to subside on their own, then serve immediately.
