Doh! Rings

Method

Doh! Rings Preparation

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, mix the warm milk, water, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

2

Prepare Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.

3

Knead Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

4

Shape Doh! Rings

Once the dough has risen, roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness. Using a donut cutter or two round cutters (one large and one small), cut out donut shapes. Place the rings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

5

Second Rise

Cover the shaped rings with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

6

Fry Doh! Rings

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the rings into the hot oil, frying in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

7

Finish and Serve

Once the rings have cooled slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm with hot fudge sauce and berry dipping sauces.
