Method

Preparation of Ingredients

1

Soak the cashews in water for at least 4 hours or overnight to soften them. Drain and rinse well before using.

2

In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of agar-agar powder. Stir well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to dissolve.

Blending and Cooking

3

Blend the Base Ingredients

In a high-speed blender, combine the soaked cashews, nutritional yeast, 1 cup of water, lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy.

4

Cook the Mixture

Transfer the blended mixture to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes gooey.

5

Add Agar-Agar

Once the mixture is thickened, add the dissolved agar-agar from the previous step. Stir well to incorporate and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes.

Setting and Serving

6

Transfer to Molds

Pour the mixture into a greased container or mold of your choice. Smooth the top with a spatula.

7

Cool and Set

Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until it sets completely.

8

Slice and Serve

Once set, remove from the mold and slice the vegan mozzarella. Serve on pizzas, salads, or enjoy with crackers.
