Method

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Brew a cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix with Liqueur

Once the coffee is cooled, mix in the coffee liqueur.

Prepare the Filling

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar

In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until the mixture is smooth.

  3. 5

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ladyfingers

Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of a dish.

  3. 9

    Spread Filling

Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.

  4. 10

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

Chill and Serve

  1. 11

    Refrigerate

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 12

    Serve with Topping

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle dark chocolate shavings.
