Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Coffee
Brew a cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Mix with Liqueur
Once the coffee is cooled, mix in the coffee liqueur.
Prepare the Filling

Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until the mixture is smooth.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Ladyfingers
Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of a dish.

Spread Filling
Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.

Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.
Chill and Serve

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle dark chocolate shavings.
